Contours and Concrete

Once an open field on a hill with undulating contours and distant views, it became an open field with undulating contours and concrete.

This private residence emerges from the hill, its concrete structure revealing panels, columns, cantilevers, and voids.

Planted enclosures, not physical boundaries, create a series of open and sheltered spaces through new tree plantations. This design merges horticultural and agricultural landscapes, with the third landscape being the raw, unpolished concrete structure.

An existing ruin with decaying walls, nestled among large Beech and Lime trees near the top of the slope, is the only original "building" on the site.

To the east, the new house is positioned with a triangular single-level floor plan, its roof apex oriented towards the ruin, creating a tension between the old and new structures. The historical ruin contrasts with the modern concrete cantilevered roof.
